The duties of the Wilson County GIS Coordinator are to assist each department within the County and the general public with mapping requests, data analysis using GIS features and tools, maintaining the county 911 roads, addresses and data structure. Additionally, the GIS Coordinator works in conjunction with the Appraisers Office in deciphering recorded instruments such as deeds, to assure property boundaries and ownership are up to date and accurate.
The GIS/Mapping Department provides some maps to the county taxpayers at little to no cost, At this time road maps are given away at no charge for an 8.5 x 11 up to a 17x22. An owner can also stop in to get an 8.5x11 print of their own property lines at no charge but limited to one copy per year as new photography becomes available. The public can also sign up to access our online mapping website for a monthly fee of $25.00 by clicking on the following link: beacon.schneidercorp.com

5-15-2013, Two more maps have been included to the map gallery, Wilson County Commissioner Districts and School Districts including Board of Education Postions. Also the Owership maps have been updated.
11-7-12, A Rural Cemetery Map has just been added to the map gallery for anyone interested in locations of Wilson County Cemeteries.
10-25-12, A new map has been added to the gallery if anyone is interested in Political Townships, please click on the "Ownership with Political Townships" link. Also we now have aerials that were flown this year, Spring of 2012, this photography is at 1 meter resolution and is mostly used for agricultural field studies.
10-19-12, After attending a mapping workshop in Wichita this week, I have brought home a digital mapbook to share, This book is a basic map book including roads and urban areas of our county and surrounding areas as well, this is a tool that uses Adobe Reader to view and the purpose is to have access to roads on your mobile devices, including tablets, laptops and smartphones. 9-20-12, It was brought to our attention by a kind resident that a road was missing on our maps, after looking the matter was true. So please make note that 1900 road DOES exist between Ulysses and Viola. In the near future this will be corrected on all maps for Wilson County and new maps will be posted to the website. 9-11-12, A Rural Fire Truck map was included in the Gallery today showing the county road and address ranges on the outer margins. This can be a helpful tool in finding an approximate address if the location is unknown.
